Racing for Open Arms

Captain Baz took us horse racing this week - and all from the comfort of our sofas.

Who knew you could have so much fun shouting at horses on Zoom in a silly hat? Of course, it helps if you have some monopoly money to blow with no consequences! In the end, it was Andrew Connelly who showed us how it was done - with some highly speculative betting on his final flutter!

We managed to raise over £2,000 money through Race Night and it is all going directly to Open Arms to help them support the children in their care and their families through this pandemic.

So high was the demand for tickets, we were able to organise two further events with the Evans Classic, pictured here, and a second Turnbull Tournament the same week!

Many thanks to our race sponsors for making this possible:
  • Andiamo Women's fashion
  • Nairn's Oatcakes
  • Coach Logic
  • the Weller family in honour of Belinda Weller and her charity, Netball for All and
  • ImPress International Media.
And a huge thank you to to Barrie Turnbull for organising the event to raise funds for our partners, Open Arms.

If you would like to support Open Arms, you can donate through Barry's just-giving page here.

And if you would like to organise your own Race Night for Open Arms, we'd be happy to help you with that too!
