Gavel comes down with a bang on our first Silent Auction

Going, going, gone but to such a great cause. Our first ever silent auction raised a staggering £3600 for our partners in Malawi.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we received literally hundreds of bids from all over Scotland. Even as far as California - yes, California, US!

Every single item sold well, from the hotly contested photograph of a zebra taken by one of our students to the top-selling painting by Ruth Thomas RWS.

Some of our most popular items included tooth whitening treatment from Haymarket Dental and the luxury cashmere stole from Johnstons of Elgin as well as lots of beautiful items for the home, delicious food, golf and sailing days. This was an auction that had something for everyone.

We couldn't have done this without the generosity of this community - so please accept our very sincere thanks. And thank you too, to Hilary Turnbull, for taking the germ of an idea and turning it into such a success.

For the second year running, it looks increasingly unlikely that we will be able to meet our partners in person to lend support to critical programmes such as Charity's clinic; reading schemes; teacher training; sporting equipment, reforestation, child services and more.

Together with our other two Spring fundraisers: Race Night and RunWalkCycle for Malawi, the money from this Silent Auction will go a long way to maintaining our commitment to the causes we have supported for nearly ten years now.
