Second netball court match fit

Following the success of the first netball court we built in Kaliyeka, we are so proud to announce we have completed a second inat Ching'ombe Primary School.

Our partners, Netball for All raised the funds to start the the work - a charity set up in memory of Belinda Weller, a netball enthusiast who loved Malawi almost as much as she loved the game! It was fitting then that her family were able to watch both courts in action on the fourth anniversary of Belinda's passing.

The Weller family joined the annual school trip and were honoured to meet some of the town elders and watch the Belinda Girls in action.

A huge thank you to Aaron Nyandeni Jere, once again, for agreeing to project manage construction of this court and to Barry Turnbull for overseeing the technical side of things. We've learned a lot - the hard way - since we finished the first one and  we are pleased to share construction was a lot smoother this time around.

Unfortunately, due to the popularity of the game, these courts required constant care and maintenance. Our attention now turns to addressing some of the wear and tear that is afflicting the first court - no surprise given the constant use it receives!
